Loan Periods & Fines
The standard loan period for all materials (books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks) is three weeks. Ebooks and e-audiobooks borrowed through Overdrive (Library to Go) may also be borrowed for up to three weeks.
No renewals are allowed on new materials. Two renewals are allowed on all other materials. For inter-library loans, we are able to renew the title once if the lending library agrees.
Fines are $0.05 per item per day to a maximum of $3.00.
Lost or damaged materials will be assessed at the library replacement cost.
Inter-library loan policy:
You must be a patron in good standing to place an inter-library loan (ILL) request through the McBride & District Public Library. Patrons are limited to 2 requests at any one given time.
Overdue fines of $0.25 per day will be charged for any materials not returned by the due date. There will be a $2 charge for ILL materials not picked up by patrons.
We are unable to request materials that are published within the last 6 months.
